Election season kicks off in Alexandria today

Geneva, Alexandria; The Genevan ArrowActing Prime Minister Jose Frias called for parliamentary elections today on behalf of Prime Minister Matthieu Poitiers. Prime Minister Matthieu Poitiers could not be present to call for elections due to a personal leave of absence. This announcement officially kicks off the Alexandrian election season, which will end in June with the Prime Ministerial elections.

The 3rd general election promises to be a contested election – over the last few months, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has developed into a viable and stong opposition movement against the ruling Alexandrian Conservative Party. PDP leader Pete James has already kicked off the campaign by posting the first campaign speech of the election in the Place du Marmion. Many expect the PDP to strongly challenge the Conservatives in this election.
