Aerlig’s official head of state, known as the Lord Protector, has largely been a role which has gone unfilled in recent years, with the former L.P. Mike Phyle having become inactive in the nation. In Statesman House, the national parliament of Aerlig has nominated former longstanding Prime Minister Lachlan Powers to become the new Lord Protector. Powers was defeated as Prime Minister and is now the leader of the opposition following last month’s elections. He has shown support for the motion to appoint him as Lord Protector, stating that he has “big plans for the office.”
